Stunning views of Lake Achensee from Mount Zwölferkopf in the Karwendel Mountains
Image gallery: Zwölferkopf Skiing Area - Achensee
The Zwölferkopf is part of the Karwendel Cable Cars in Pertisau and easily accessible from the edge of the village. The valley station is just a short walk from the western shore of Lake Achensee. The Zwölferkopf, Grat, and Joch Chairlifts take you up to the ski resort on the 1,491-metre-high Zwölferkopf in the Karwendel Mountains. 12 kilometres of pistes await you there, divided into six kilometres of easy and six kilometres of intermediate runs. The location is particularly appealing.
Below, Lake Achensee glistens, and above, a snow-covered winter landscape stretches across sunny slopes. The Pertisau Ski School, with Bobo's Kids Club and Bobo the penguin mascot, helps children learn their first turns. The practice area at the Planberg and Wiesen Lifts is also ideal for beginners and those returning to skiing: The skiing area is known as a great place to brush up on your skiing skills. The wide Zwölferkopf descent towards the Tristenautal valley and the Hubertus piste, with its fantastic view of Lake Achensee, are especially popular.
A new, heated ski and boot depot is also available at the valley station. For a change of pace, the Zwölferkopf winter hiking trail, which leads from the mountain station down to the valley, also offers magnificent views of the lake. Families can explore the Alpine Animal Circular Trail (trail no. 4) along the romantic Bärendbad Hut or whiz down the natural toboggan run at the Zwölferkopf.
