The Zillertal Arena is one of the largest skiing areas of Austria and includes the localities of Zell am Ziller, Gerlos and Hainzenberg on Tyrolean territory, as well as Wald-Königsleiten and Krimml-Hochkrimml in the Zell am See District in Salzburg. This results in four skiing mountains, connected with each other. The Rosenalm and Karspitz Cable Cars start on the edge of Zell am Ziller - Dorfbahn, however, is called the lift facility in Gerlos which takes you on the slopes. Furthermore there's the Gerlosstein Cable Car in Hainzenberg: Mt. Gerlosstein is one of the oldest skiing areas of the valley and comfortably reachable by the free ski bus service of the Zillertal Arena.
One of the most famous downhill runs is the Zell am Ziller Valley Run, boasting 1,930 metres of vertical drop. Therefore it is known as Height Devouring Tour. Do you want to become an Arena Champion? 14 stations have been put on a list, among them the SkiMovie Run in Zell and the Photopoint Gerlos. Six of them have to be completed to become a champion. Snowboarders love the Gerlos Snow Park, the Kreuzwiese Action Park in Zell am Ziller - where the popular Shredschool Freestyle Workshops take place - and the Hochkrimml Fun Park. Speedy racers, however, will enjoy the permanent race tracks such as the Speed Check Runs in Hochkrimml and in Königsleiten.
A special children's programme, children-friendly slopes, fun runs and special parks for the little ones make holidays in the Zillertal Arena Ski Region varied also for families. On the Funty Slope from the mountain station to the intermediate station of the Rosenalm Cable Car, you will meet FUNty, the yellow Arena Mascot. Down in the valley, however, the fun continues at the Arena Coaster Zillertal, an all year round toboggan run on rails, and in the Zell am Ziller Leisure Park which features an ice skating rink, a tennis hall and bowling alleys. The Zillertaler Super Ski Pass is valid in the Zillertal Arena Ski Region as well as in the other skiing areas of the valley.
