Steinplatte Skiing Area - PillerseeTal

Skiing and winter fun for the whole family at the border between Tyrol, Salzburg, and Bavaria

High above Waidring, in the tri-border area of Tyrol, Salzburg and Bavaria, lies the Steinplatte, a ski resort on a sunny plateau in the Kitzbühel Alps holiday region. The 42 km of ski slopes and 3 km ski routes are accessible by the 15-seater Steinplatte Gondola which starts in the village centre of [Waidring]https://www.tyrol.tl/en/tyrol/kitzbuehel-and-surroundings/waidring/), or from the Bavarian Winklmoos Pasture. Therefore, two skiing areas can be used with a combined ski pass.

Carvers love the wide slopes, and freeriders the deep-snow slopes of the Schwarzlofer Pasture. The 1.5 km long Steinplatte Snow Park is popular among the boarders, combining the best elements of snow park and boardercross for plenty of winter fun. Numerous ski huts provide sustenance with Tyrolean and Bavarian delicacies, such as "Kasspatzln" (cheese gnocchi) and "Tiroler Gröstl" (meat with potatoes), among them the Kammerkör, Stallenalm and Möseralm Huts.

Children can choose between the Triassic Kinderland in the ski school area and the Hausberg Arena in the center of Waidring. The Triassic Kinderland on the Steinplatte offers year-round adventures, featuring the highest sandy beach in the Alps during summer. New additions include the Triassic Funline with fun dinosaur elements and flexible Triassic childcare (half-day or full-day options). Family ski lifts and wide family slopes are also available.

A short 10-minute walk from the top station brings you to two different viewing platforms: the first, characterized by its unique fan-shaped coral form, and the second, a new larch wood construction that is accessible to everyone. Both platforms offer a breathtaking view of the impressive scenery of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Mt. Steinplatte is one of the eight skiing areas within the famous 3 Country Leisure Arena and is also a member of the SnowcardTirol and SuperSkiCard pass networks.
