Fügen at the entrance of the Zillertal valley is the gate to the 17 km of ski slopes and the 4 km of ski routes of the Spieljoch Family Mountain. The Spieljoch Cable Car starts in the village centre, comfortably reachable also from other localities by the ski bus service of the Erste Ferienregion. The mountain station is located slightly below the peak - a winter hiking trail takes you up. The ski offer is ideal for those who would like to spend relaxing days on the snow. At the start of the skiing season, also the Ski Food Festival with culinary treats from different countries takes place here.
Children can make their first passes on the skis on the large beginners area beneath the valley station by using the magic carpets - the popular Zwergerl Club kindergarten is waiting for them at the mountain station. By improving the snowmaking equipment, however, the Spieljochbahn Skiing Area offers now also the longest downhill run of the Zillertal valley that can be snowed up artificially and the racetrack at the Onkeljoch Lift. Also snowboarders and freeskiers can be seen at this lift facility, more precisely at the fun slope and the snow park, called Funny-Slope together.
Off the slopes you can use the 5.5 km long toboggan run from the mountain station to the intermediate station. Furthermore, Mt. Spieljoch features an authorised starting and landing place for paragliders, which is accessible also in winter: From the starting place at the mountain station and at the Onkeljoch, located slightly higher, they fly down to the landing place beneath the valley station. The Spieljoch Skiing Area is connected to the Hochfügen Ski Region by a ski shuttle service - the Zillertal Super Ski Pass is valid in both areas and in all other skiing areas of the valley.
