Spieljochbahn Skiing Area - Zillertal

The Spieljoch, at the entrance to the Zillertal valley, boasts a 7-kilometre-long snow-sure valley run

Fügen, the gateway to the Zillertal, offers the Spieljoch, a family-friendly mountain with 17 kilometres of pistes and 4 kilometres of ski routes. The Spieljoch Cable Car starts right in the village and is also easily accessible by ski bus from the Erste Ferienregion (First Holiday Region in the Zillertal). The mountain station sits just below the summit, which you can reach via a winter hiking trail. The ski resort is particularly well-suited to those looking for relaxing ski days. At the start of the season, the mountain huts in teh Spieljochbahn Skiing Area and in the nearby Hochfügen Ski Region host the Ski Food Festival, featuring culinary highlights from various countries.

Children can gain their first skiing experience in the spacious beginners' area near the valley station. Magic carpets make getting around easy. The popular "Zwergerl Club", a snow kindergarten for visitors' children, awaits at the mountain station. Thanks to expanded snowmaking facilities, the Spieljoch has, for some years, boasted the longest snow-sure valley run in the Zillertal valley, as well as a race track at the Onkeljoch Lift. There, you'll also find snowboarders and freeskiers enjoying the fun slope and fun park. New for the 2024/25 season is black piste number 3, the "Heisse Kante" (Hot Edge). You'll quickly see why!

Away from the pistes, the 5.5-kilometre-long toboggan run from the mountain station to the middle station beckons. Paragliders will also find an approved take-off and landing site at the Spieljoch in winter. From the take-off points at the mountain station and the higher Onkeljoch, you glide down to the landing site below the valley station. A ski shuttle connects the Spieljoch with Hochfügen. The Zillertal Super Ski Pass is valid for both. This ticket grants you access to a total of 548 kilometres of pistes and 180 lifts throughout the entire valley - encompassing both of these skiing areas, as well as the Zillertal Arena, Mayrhofen, and the Zillertal 3000 Ski & Glacier World.
