Guaranteed snow and skiing fun in Ischgl: the Silvretta Arena in the Paznaun Valley

The Silvretta Arena connects Ischgl with the Swiss duty-free area of Samnaun, a shopper's paradise. Thanks to state-of-the-art snowmaking facilities, snow is guaranteed. Add to this first-class slopes and lifts - it's no wonder Ischgl enjoys an excellent reputation in the skiing world and has received multiple awards for its environmental commitment. The Silvretta Cable Car starts directly in the village centre, while the Flim and Pardatschgrat Cable Cars are located on the edge of the village, easily accessible by the free ski bus. The Silvretta Ski Pass is valid here as well as in the three other ski areas of the Paznaun Valley: See, Galtür, and Kappl.
With 234 kilometres of slopes and 46 lifts, the Silvretta Arena is the third largest ski area in Tyrol. The longest descent is the 11-kilometre-long "Eleven" from the Greitspitz peak to the centre of Ischgl. Adrenaline junkies will find their challenge on the black slope 14a with its 70% gradient. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace will find a gentle beginner's area on the Idalp at 2,300 metres above sea level. The Idalp is also the venue for the famous "Top of the Mountain" opening and closing concerts. Stars such as Elton John, Kings of Leon, Demi Lovato, Sean Paul, Jason Derulo, and Lenny Kravitz have already graced the stage here. Ellie Goulding, Andrea Berg, and Melissa Naschenweng will provide musical highlights during the 2024/25 winter season.
Freestylers and snowboarders will find plenty to enjoy in the Silvretta Arena. The JEEP® Snowpark, one of the longest snow parks in the Alps, is divided into the Vellil Area (upper) and the Idalp Area (lower). The Obstacle Freestyle Board Park awaits on the Swiss side. Further highlights include the three ski routes of the Smugglers' Round and the extensive freeride slopes, which are among the largest in Europe, as well as the night toboggan run. The last weeks of the season are dedicated to "Spring Blanc" - the white spring - and offer a varied programme with musical and culinary events.
