Mayrhofen calls its skiing experience "Mountopolis". The Mayrhofner Bergbahnen whisk you up to the Ahorn, the gateway to 142 kilometres of magnificent slopes and 8.5 kilometres of ski routes, via the Ahornbahn, Austria's largest gondola. They spread across two mountains: the before mentioned Ahorn and the Penken. You can reach the Penken with the Penken Cable Car from Mayrhofen, the Horberg Lift from Schwendau, or the Möslbahn on the Hochschwendberg.
The more leisurely Ahorn, with its wide slopes, is perfect for carving and, together with the FunRide Ahorn and FamilyPark, ideal for families. There's plenty to experience off-piste too, such as the PistenBock slope or the winter hiking trail to the Falcon Oasis, the winter home of the birds of prey from the Ahorn Eagle's Stage. For action and thrills, head to the action-packed Penken: steep descents and highlights like the Skimovie run and the Harakiri slope with its 78% gradient - for experts only! The well-known PenkenPark is considered one of Austria's best snow parks.
The Mayrhofen Skiing Area, which, together with the Hintertux Glacier, forms the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000, is also known for its cosy ski huts, such as the WhiteLounge Snowbar. As with all Zillertal ski resorts - Hochfügen-Hochzillertal, Spieljochbahn, Zillertal Arena, and the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000 - the Zillertal Super Ski Pass is also valid in Mayrhofen.
