You can easily reach the Jöchelspitze Skiing Area, on the sunny side of the Lechtal valley, via the Lechtal lift facilities from the village of Bach. The ride itself on the new Jöchelspitz Cable Car, an 8-person gondola lift, is an experience: It ascends 600 metres to an altitude of 1,800 metres. Enjoy fantastic views stretching from the Lechtal Alps to the Allgäu Alps. At the top, a ski resort nestled amidst impressive mountain scenery awaits.
Children and beginners can practise their first turns right next to the valley station on the Jöchelspitze practice lift. The ski area also includes the Gföllberg Lift in Holzgau, 4 kilometres away. It starts next to the church and provides access to one easy and one intermediate slope.
Are you looking for a small, manageable ski resort for relaxing ski days? Then the Jöchelspitze, a 2,226-metre peak in the Allgäu Alps, is the perfect place. The southern slope is popular not only with skiers, but also with paragliders and hang-gliders: Its sheltered location within the Alps offers excellent thermals. The Jöchelspitze is also included in the 3-Valleys-Pass (3-Täler-Pass), which is valid in 38 ski resorts between the Bregenz Forest and the Lechtal valley.
