Hochoetz in the Oetztal valley offers 41 km of ski slopes, ranging from 814 m to 2,272 m a.s.l., located above all on the northern slopes below the mighty Acherkogel mountain. Together with the Kühtai Skiing Area, Hochoetz forms the Hochoetz-Kühtai Ski Region featuring almost 90 km of beautiful slopes. The two skiing areas are connected by a ski bus that runs every half-hour.
Hochoetz is accessible from two villages: from Oetz and from Ochsengarten, located along the road to the Kühtai Pass. One of the most beautiful slopes is the Brunnenkopf Run, from where the snow-capped Stubai Alps seem within one's grasp. New, however, is the black slope no. 14, which connects the Balbach area to Ochsengarten. With 71 days per season of sunshine - the national average are 54 days - the Hochoetz Skiing Region is among the 10 sunniest Austrian ski regions.
Seven cosy ski huts invite to a pleasant rest and Tyrolean delicacies. Children, however, can make their first experiences on skis, guided by certified ski instructors - they teach them skiing in a playful manner. Always by their side is the mascot WIDI, a cute sheep, which accompanies them the whole year round through the Oetztal valley. Besides a kindergarten, fun park, igloo village and child-friendly slopes, also a restaurant, designed in a child-friendly manner, awaits the little ones.
