As a hiking area in summer, Hochkössen transforms into a charming skiing area in winter, which received the quality seal for ski runs awarded by the State of Tyrol. It can be found on the northern side of Mt. Unterberghorn in the Tyrolean Kaiser Mountains, the local mountain of Kössen. It is highly appreciated for its moderate dimensions and the easy and toll-free arrival from Baviera.
Recently, two new magic carpets have been added to the lift facilities. At the valley station there is the Kössen Ski School, which has got special offers for kids: At Sunny's beginners' terrain, kids can explore magic carpets, a carousel and the "Snow V" which helpes make the first steps on the snow. Furthermore there are a family run and the Snowman Ticket with reduced fees for children.
The 22 km of ski slopes of the Hochkössen Skiing Area are ideal for skiers and snowboarders alike. Popular are especially the Black Run and the training centre with the slalom and giant slalom slopes. Afterwards, the Scheibenwaldhütte, the Bärenhütte and the Gipfelhaus Unterberghorn invite to a stop. With the valid ski pass, the ski bus service from Kufstein is included. Away from the ski slopes you can try winter paragliding, winter hiking and cross-country skiiing.
