The skiing area at the Höfener Alm, an area at 1,900 m a.s.l. on the slopes of Mt. Hahnenkamm in the Kitzbühel Alps, disposes of five lift facilities. The red cabins of the Hahnenkamm Cable Car start above the village of Höfen and take you onto 16 km of slopes - most of them are medium difficult runs. The Hahnenkamm Mountain World is also a famous destination for ski tours.
The 4 km long main slope, the Hauptabfahrt, is medium difficult, the Muldenabfahrt is the easiest one. Furthermore there are three difficult runs which are called Sonnenhang (sunny slope), Neuer Hang (new slope) and Kanonenrohr (gun barrel). Kids can look forward to the Schollenwiesen Lift with its children's area which is available in the valley, suitable for first steps on skis. Also the Alpeggle intermediate station is rather flat and suitable for beginners. Professional help offer the certified instructors of the Hahnenkamm 2000 Ski School who show you the proper technique.
Further winter fun is offered on the sledge slope, on the Hahnenkamm cross-country ski track which takes you through the winter landscape, and on the winter starting point for paragliders. The Panorama Restaurant which offers a stunning view on the Lechtal valley, and the Cilli Hut, one of the most popular huts on Mt. Hahnenkamm, provide you with Tyrolean delicacies.
