Mt. Glungezer, a 2,677 m high peak in the Tux Alps, is located only a few kilometres from the Alpine City of Innsbruck, comfortably reachable by the free ski bus from Innsbruck and Hall in Tirol. The Glungezer Cable Car - with ski depot on the valley station - takes you from the village of Tulfes directly into the skiing area with its 23 km of slopes in sunny location. A great winterly view on the Inn Valley and the Nordkette mountain chain from the top is included.
The skiing area convinces with its naturalness and one of the longest and most beautiful downhill runs throughout Tyrol, more than 15 km long. Snowboarder can look forward to the half pipe. Another highlight is accessible only with touring skis or snowshoes: the Igloo Village at 2,600 m a.s.l. near the Glungezer Hut with its 10 igloos, surrounded by 500 majestic peaks.
The new snowmaking equipment guarantees snow till spring in the Glungezer Skiing Area. But there's also winter fun without skis and snowboard, e.g. on the 3.7 km long Tulfein-Halsmarter toboggan run, or on the two winter walking paths which start at the intermediate resp. mountain station of Mt. Glungezer. The popular ski tour evenings and toboggan evenings take place. As in other 12 skiing areas, the SKI plus CITY Pass between the Stubaital and Innsbruck is valid here.
