Modern skiing fun in the manageable Berwang-Bichlbach Ski Arena in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena

At an altitude of 1,336 metres, above the villages of Berwang, Bichlbach, Heiterwang, and Rinnen, the snow-sure Berwang-Bichlbach Ski Arena awaits, with its beautiful deep-snow slopes. The valley station of the Almkopf Cable Car in Bichlbach is located directly on the Fern Pass main road, where the train also stops - the road then continues to Germany. In Berwang, you can reach the SunnAlmBahn and the Egghof Sun Jet - the latter being of particular interest to tobogganists - at the edge of the village, while a small ski lift operates in Rinnen. Construction on the second section of the Obere Karbahn cable car in Berwang has been underway for several months. From the 2025/2026 winter season, a modern 10-person gondola lift will take you up to the Obere Kar.
The 34 kilometres of slopes, mostly easy, are ideal for families and some even lead down to the village. The skiing area is part of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena Ski Region. The night skiing slope at the Egghof Sun Jet and night tobogganing on the toboggan run from the mountain station down to the valley are especially popular. For the little skiers' first turns, there's a free magic carpet at the valley station. The award-winning Berwang Ski School offers support for all levels.
Further modernisations are planned for the next few years: the construction of new lifts, the expansion of the snowmaking system, and a mountain restaurant at the new middle station of the Obere Karbahn cable car. Away from the slopes, around Berwang and Bichlbach, numerous cross-country ski trails, an ice rink, and winter hiking trails await you in the beautiful Berwang Valley. A cross-country ski trail and a winter hiking trail start directly at the Almkopfbahn valley station.
