The holiday area Kaiserwinkl comprises the four villages of Kössen, Rettenschöss, Schwendt and Walchsee, with the name-giving Lake Walchsee in its centre. Also hiking areas such as Hochkössen and the Kaiser Mountains, and the Schwemm, North Tyrol's largest contiguous moorland, attract many outdoor enthusiasts in summer. In winter, however, the area represents one of the largest cross-country ski centres of Tyrol, featuring more than 100 km of classic and just as many km of skating tracks.
