The town of Kufstein with its fortress represents the cultural centre of the region. In the surroundings, there is the 1,828 m high Hohe Salve mountain and charming holiday resorts such as the town of Wörgl, the pilgrimage site Mariastein, and the high valley of the Wildschönau. In winter, however, the holiday area is located at the entrance of the largest ski resort of Austria, which is also known beyond borders: the 284 km of slopes of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser.
