Scheffau is the smallest municipality of the holiday area Wilder Kaiser with its Kaisergebirge Nature Reserve. The chamois, the European snow vole, the European edible dormouse and the fire salamander belong to the animals living in this area. Down in the valley, the Wilder Kaiser Cycle Route connects Wörgl with the villages on the sunny side of the Kaiser Mountains.
Summer at Scheffau stands for summer in the Tyrolean mountains. Lake Hintersteiner above the village offers a bathing establishment, moreover there's the KaiserWorld near Lake Jochstub'n, a special place for families. In the village itself, you may explore the Kneipp Path, with a barefoot path, an open-air inhalatorium, where salt wasser trickles on pine branches, and a meditation site.
Those who seek the thrill, however, might want to contact the Flycentre "King of the Air", offering tandem flights from the top of Mt. Hartkaiser. In winter, take the Bergbahnen Scheffau lift facilities in order to reach the ski carousel SkiWorld Wilder Kaiser - Brixental, which features almost 300 km of ski slopes and family-friendly offers such as the KinderKaiserWorld at the Brandstadl.
