The charming village of Jochberg is located in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps, halfway between the town of Kitzbühel and the Thurn Pass (1,274 m a.s.l.). On the edge of the village there's the local forest pool, vitalized by Grander Water, a popular destination during the summer months.
High above the village, the Kupferplatte Show Mine invites you to a tour inside the mountain. In this area, already 3,000 years ago copper was quarried, resulting in a wide-ranging network of tunnels and galleries. A small train takes you into the mine. Above ground, however, the Miners' Path provides interesting information about the mining history. Another worth-while destination is the Sintersbach Waterfall, a power place, which can be reached in a 1-hour walk.
For those who love culture, there is the St. Michael Church, the oldest one of Jochberg, and the pilgrimage church with the paintings by Simon Faistenberger and the St. Wolfgang Fountain beneath it. This fountain was frequented by numerous pilgrims, documented in the "Mirakelbuch" from 1505 AD. Pilgrimages came to an end, but still today you can touch the healing water in the St. Wolfgang Chapel in the parish church. When winter approaches, the Jochberg Skiing Area unites with the Resterhöhe Skiing Area, and forms the KitzSki Kitzbühel-Kirchberg ski resort.
