Ellmau enchants you with its Tyrolean charm and an impressive mountain panorama at the foot of Mt. Wilder Kaiser. And right for this reason, it hasn't been undetected for a long time: The village has been setting for TV series and movies, and is a popular venue also from a musical point of view. Every year in autumn, the folk music event "Musikherbst am Wilden Kaiser" takes place here.
The holiday village is dominated by Mt. Ellmauer Halt, with its 2,344 m a.s.l. the highest summit of the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve. In this area, the Gruttenhütte Mountain Hut is a popular hiking destination, which can be reached from the Wochenbrunner Mountain Hut. The path leads also past a place of energy called Ellmau Stone Circle. In the valley, a 27-hole golf course and the Kaiserbad swimming pool - featuring an outdoor pool and a sauna world - awaits you.
Enjoying family holidays? Then you may visit Ellmi, the magic frog. It shares its kingdom on Mt. Hartkaiser with fays, goblins, ghosts, and the Rübezahl Path, Austria's longest carved-figures trail. In summer, this is a real paradise for kids, in late autumn, however, the region turns into the SkiWorld Wilder Kaiser-Brixental and attracts numerous winter sports enthusiasts.
