- A8 (road signs Salzburg/A8/Nürnberg)
- at the motorway exit slip road 101-Dreieck Inntal
- A93 towards Innsbruck/Kufstein
- now you are in North Tyrol
- to Innsbruck: proceed on A12
- 160 km, travel time: 1 h 40 min
North Tyrol - from Zurich/Switzerland:
- E41 (road signs E60/A1/A4/Sankt Gallen/Winterthur)
- A1 to the Austrian border
- A13 (signs to E43/A13/Au)
- now you are in North Tyrol
- to Innsbruck: E60/A14 towards Bregenz/Innsbruck
- then A12/E60 (signs E60/A12/Innsbruck)

North Tyrol - from Vienna/Austria:
- A1 (road signs A1/Linz/Sankt Pölten...)
- proceed on A8
- at the motorway exit slip road 01-triangle Innsbruck/Kufstein
- now you are in North Tyrol
- for Innsbruck: proceed on A12
- 470 km, travel time: 5 h
North Tyrol - from Salzburg/Austria:
- A1 (towards Innsbruck/Munich/A10)
- proceed on A8 (and the same as from Vienna)
- 180 km, travel time: 1 h 50 min
North Tyrol - from Venice/Italy:
- A4/E70
- before Verona exit towards Brennero/Verona Nord
- A22 via Brennero
- now you are in North Tyrol
- to Innsbruck: proceed on A13
- 390 km, travel time: 4 h
Please note, that the Austrian motorways are subject to road taxes called "Vignette". The tollway permit stickers are available at most of the filling stations for 10 days, 2 months or the whole year.
East Tyrol - from Munich/Germany:
- E54 to Kiefersfelden/Kufstein
- last exit before border (Kiefersfelden)
- here you don't need the motorway permit sticker!
- from Kufstein follow the road "Felbertauernstrasse"
- via Felbertauern road to East Tyrol
- 216 km, travel time: 2 h 30 min
East Tyrol - from Switzerland:
- A14 via Feldkirch / Bludenz / Arlberg
- A12 via Innsbruck to exit Wörgl Ost
- follow the road "Felbertauernstrasse"
- via Kitzbühel, Mittersill to East Tyrol

East Tyrol - from Vienna/Austria:
- A2 to Klagenfurt
- Villach (A 10) to Spittal (B 100), then East Tyrol
