Tyrol is Alpine area, so don’t forget to mount winter tyres and carry along snow chains: Snow fall might be quite heavy
Winter equipment obligation for cars is valid every year from 1st of November until 15th of April the following year. During this period cars must only be driven if all four wheels are equipped with winter tyres or snow chains on at least two drive wheels (snow chains are allowed only in case the road is continuously or almost continuously covered with snow or ice).
Identification of authorized winter tyres: M+S, M.S. or M&S - the winter tyres obligation is called "Winterreifenpflicht", the snow chains obligation "Schneekettenpflicht".
