Sun-drenched slopes and the first heralds of spring can be enjoyed in Tyrol from March to May
While the mountains are still snow-covered and the skiers enjoy their last weeks carrying out their favourite hobby, spring conquers the landscape down in the valleys. Depending on the altitude, the first heralds of spring stick towards the warming spring sun rays. Between March and April, the Easter Bunny squirrels across the country. The temperatures in the valleys are rather similar, no matter if you stay in Innsbruck, Kufstein, Ischgl, Zillertal valley or Lienz in East Tyrol, where it might be slightly colder than in North Tyrol.
In March, in the evenings, at night and in the morning, there can still be degrees below zero, while during the day the thermometers might indicate about 10 degrees.When time goes by, snow melts also on the mountains and spring becomes prevalent. In May, there might even be 20 degrees C, which is ideal for a cup of coffee outside, enjoying the warming sun rays.
