The St. Ulrich Chapel (Ulrichskapelle) is located on a forested hill southeast of Pfunds, above the entrance to the Radurschltal valley. It dates back to 1767 and replaces an older chapel building from the late 15th century. The small church was fully renovated and restored from 1975 to 1983, so that it is in good condition today. Our comfortable walk leads us through the woods above Pfunds to this beauty spot and then back again to the village at the Inn river with its magnificent houses and Engadine-style murals.
We cross the Inn river in Pfunds. From the district of Dorf we follow the forest path which runs for about 3 km through the forest along the slope towards west. It leads into the forest road, which proceeds from the Kajetansbrücke bridge towards the Radurschltal valley. Here we follow the marker no. 13 straight to the St. Ulrich Chapel. For our descent we take the direct path which serves as a sledge run in winter and leads back to our starting point in Pfunds.
