The mountain hike leads to the gorgeous Neualpl Lakes in the Schober Group, above the town of Lienz in East Tyrol

At about 2,450 m a.s.l., between the peaks of Mt. Schleinitz (2,904 m a.s.l.) and Mt. Goiselemandl, the Neualpl Lake District (Neualplseen) is located. The Zettersfeld Cable Car and the Steinermandl Chairlift bring us up to our starting point at 2,200 m a.s.l. From here we follow the "Goiselemandl Nordweg", a path which proceeds above the Debanttal valley to the Neualpl Lakes. The view on the eastern peaks of the Schober Group with the 3,282 m high Mt. Petzeck is impressive.
Two big and several small lakes are our destination, which we reach after about 1 hour walking time. The surrounding landscape and the sky are reflected in the clear waters. Our way back proceeds along the "Goiselemandlweg Südweg" path (no. 913), which leads us back again to the mountain station of the chairlift. The view on the Lienz Dolomites, the Sesto Dolomites and the Deferegg Alps is amazing.
