In Ellmau a famous house is located, it is the setting of the very popular German TV serial “The Mountain Doctor”

Starting point of our walking tour is the centre of Ellmau. From here our famous destination can nearly be seen already. It is located on a hill, on the right of the village. The way is well-signposted, we walk past the cable car always along the street. After about half an hour later and only an altitude difference of 50 m we reach the "Bergdoktor-Haus" at 885 m a.s.l.
The famous farmhouse is very popular among German people. Even today the TV serial "Der Bergdoktor" (The Mountain Doctor) is shot here and the area is fenced off. So we take a rest on a bench below the farm and enjoy our picnic and a gorgeous view on Ellmau and the surrounding Kaiser Mountains. If you continue to follow the road, several possibilities for hikes are offered.
