The Ellmau Stone Circle is a place of energy and natural force field taking the form of a giant mandala

From Ellmau we drive to the Wochenbrunner Mountain Hut (Wochenbrunner Alm) at 1,084 m a.s.l., a nice hiking destination itself. On a beautiful autumn morning we start our hiking tour, following the trail in the direction of the Ellmau Stone Circle (Ellmauer Steinkreis). After about 30 minutes we have arrived: At the Ellmau Stone Circle everybody is invited to chose his or her stone and to meditate on it. Leaving the Ellmau Stone Circle, we follow trail no. 14 upwards through the wood and at the "Gamsbrunnl" fountain, where we have a short rest.
Leading out of the wood, the gravel path continues under the impressive peaks of the Kaiser Mountains. As the trail is exposed in some parts, some agility is requested and children have to pay particular attention. At the fork with the famous Eagle Trail, we enjoy the breathtaking views. After about 2 hours we have finally arrived at the Grutten Mountain Hut (Gruttenhütte, 1,620 m a.s.l.), which is more than 100 years old. After a pleasant stop we hike back to the Wochenbrunner Mountain Hut on the path behind the Grutten Hut (circular tour, not on the same way back).
