This hike proceeds from St. Sigmund im Sellrain through the Gleirschtal valley in the Stubai Alps to the Adolf Witzenmann Hut (Neue Pforzheimer Hütte) at 2,308 m a.s.l

Starting point of our hike is the parking space near St. Sigmund im Sellrain which can be found along the road to Kühtai. From here we always follow the path no. 145. The first section we have to walk on an asphalt road, past the Fuchsspielplatz playground to the near Gleirsch Mountain Hut (Gleirschalm). From there we walk along a gravelled road further through the valley, always towards south. We pass by the Rieglkapelle chapel and the Vordere Gleirschalm Mountain Hut.
After about 2 hours we reach the wet meadows at the Hintere Gleirschalm Mountain Hut. At the valley station of the goods cable lift the path no. 145 branches off to the right towards the Pforzheim Mountain Hut, nowadays known as Neue Pforzheimer Hütte. A steep path takes us up the last km and 250 m in altitude to our destination.
