The Sunnalm Mountain Hut is located north of the Penken mountain at 1,770 m a.s.l. and is easily reachable thanks to a well-walkable path

If you are looking for an easy destination for a leisurely walk in the mountains of the Zillertal valley, we can recommend the following nice tour. By car or bus you can reach the village of Mösl am Schwendberg via the Zillertal Mountain Road from Hippach. At the Almhof Roswitha hotel our walking tour starts along the road first downhill. After about 500 metres the Horbergweg path branches off on the right. The signposts to "Schiestl's Sunnalm" cannot be overlooked.
The asphalted path (no. 24) first leads into the valley of the Sidanbach brook and then uphill through the Mühlwald forest. After about 3 km a beautiful alpine meadow landscape opens up. Here the huts of the Kressbrunn Alp are located. At the turning bay the asphalt ends and we walk the last section on a nice gravel path (about 1 km). By the way, it is also possible to drive until the turning bay by car and park there - this shortens the walking time to around 20 minutes. This also allows people who have problems walking longer distances to spend a nice day at the hut.
