Today we decide to walk from Achenkirch to Lake Achensee. The village is located on the north bank of the lake and extends quite a wide area. We start in the south of the village, here we find a sports shop, a grocery and several cafés, all together it seems to be a quiet and relaxing village. Especially the gorgeous farmhouses decorated with lovely details attract our attention. We walk along the foot path next to the street and enjoy the view on the hills of the Karwendel Alpine Park.
After about 20 minutes we see the last houses in front of us, and the lake sparkles in the backlight. The path leads also past the Local Museum Achental at the Sixenhof which gives an interesting insight into former farmer's life. After few steps we have reached the water. On our left a tavern and the shipping pier Scholastika are located, right the path leads to an observation deck and to a short lakeside promenade. Also a beach volleyball court and a snack-bar can be found here.
