The high-alpine circular hiking tour through the unique mountain world of the Zillertal Alps starts in Mayrhofen in the Zillertal
About 70 km connect numerous mountain huts above Mayrhofen in the Zillertal valley. In nine day stages you can experience the beauty of the Zillertal Alps and stay overnight in the individual huts and take a break: Among them are the famous Olperer Mountain Hut at 2,389 m a.s.l., the Berliner Hut - and right after it comes the highest point of the Berlin High Route, also called Berliner Höhenweg, which is Mt. Schönbichler Horn at 3,133 m a.s.l. - and the Kasseler Hut.
The individual stages take between 2 and 9 hours. The most demanding is the 2nd stage from the Gamshütte to the Friesenberghaus. The last stage of the route is the descent from the Edelhütte to Mayrhofen: But if you justifiably feel tiredness in your legs, you can also decide for a relaxing descent using the Ahorn Cable Car. Together with the Aschaffenburg High Route, the Berlin High Route becomes a multi-day hike that is popular and famous known as the "Zillertaler Runde".
