Riedel Glass is committed to quality, style and elegance when the glassmakers in the fortress town of Kufstein produce the glasses that are known far beyond the borders. The story goes back to Johann Christoph Riedel, born in Bohemia in the 17th century. Nine generations later, Claus J. Riedel designed the first collection of wine-friendly stemware in 1974. They became known as the "Sommeliers" series and were the model for the future of glass design.
Each wine was dedicated to its own glass. Today, the traditional company is in its 11th generation and offers you an insight into the art of glass in its show glass factory - you can immerse yourself in the world of wine glass production 5 minutes away from the Kufstein motorway exit. The Factory Tour and the "Sinnfonie" emotional show explain the individual steps of glass creation.
Furthermore you can visit the Riedel Museum featuring the Glass Cabinet (Bohemian Museum) and the Glassmaker Museum, a retrospective and ideas laboratory. It offers an interesting insight into the history of Riedel Glass Kufstein, starting in 1756, when it was founded in Bohemia. You can see the finished products in the 300 sqm Flagship Store & Outlet, which is part of the manufactory.
