The ships on the largest lake of Tyrol make you experience Lake Achensee and the surrounding alpine world from the water

In 1887, for the first time a ship of the Lake Achensee Ferry and Cruise Company (Achensee-Schifffahrt) set sail on Lake Achensee, today three ships are in the field: The motor vessels "Tirol" and "Stadt Innsbruck" offer modernest technology and large panoramic windows so that you can enjoy the gorgeous view on the Karwendel Mountains and Lake Achensee to the fullest. The third ship is the "MS Achensee", a passenger vessel with historic highlights.
The boats moor at six piers, among them Scholastika at the upper end of the lake, and at the Gaisalm Mountain Hut, which is accessible only by foot or boat. Very popular are the swimming Christmas market "Seeweihnacht am Achensee" (Lake Christmas) on the illuminated ships, as well as the "Christmas on the MS Achensee", the most beautiful ship of the fleet.
The traditional vessel St. Benedikt (St. Benedict) set off on its last journey in 2017. At the Seespitz pier it was symbolically passed to the Atoll Achensee leisure and wellness centre where today it is used as an adventure playground. There is also a second particular transportation in the area of Lake Achensee, the Lake Achensee Railway, a narrow-gauge cogwheel railway.
