Ten worlds of experience await you at the Brenner Base Tunnel Info Centre in Steinach am Brenner

Tunnel construction is the theme of the BBT Tunnel World Info Centre (BBT Infocenter Tunnelwelten), which is entirely dedicated to the construction of the Brenner Base Tunnel. This Austrian-Italian joint project for passenger and freight transport will connect Innsbruck with Fortezza in South Tyrol underground. In total, the tunnel, which is planned to be completed by 2032, will be 64 km long - and therefore the longest underground railway connection in the world.
The Info Centre in Steinach am Brenner provides a viewing tunnel that shows you how it looks inside. Even you can become a master builder and try to build a stable tunnel out of building blocks. Theme-based play stations and child-oriented information ensure that the Info Centre is an experience for the whole family.
The ten worlds are also dedicated to the topics of history, geology, surveying, tunnelling, technology and the environment and are accessible all year round. The entrace can be found opposite the valley station of the Bergeralm Cable Car. The admission is free, but if you wish you can also arrange a tour of the construction site in the Brenner Base Tunnel.
