The Tiefenbach Gorge is - besides the Emperor’s Gorge - one of the canyons in the surroundings of Brandenberg

Brandenberg has not only one gorge, that is to say the Emperor's Gorge in the locality of Pinegg, but even a second one: The wild Tiefenbach Gorge (Tiefenbachklamm) is located between the villages of Brandenberg and Kramsach. The highlight of the hike through the Tiefenbach Gorge is the impressive panoramic platform at the highest point of the canyon, after approx. 1.5 km.
From the Tiefenbachklamm parking space in Kramsach you can experience the gorge by walking along the Brandenberger Ache river, which originally was used for the transportation of tree trunks. Nowadays it represents a well known destination for kayakers.
The path leads past bridges and waterfalls. At the exit of the Tiefenbach Gorge, after a 1.5 hour-walk, there's the Tiefenbachklamm tavern at 650 m a.s.l. which offers a sun terrace and a children's playground. In order to get back to your starting point, you can take the same way through the gorge, or continue to Brandenburg (about 30 minutes) where you can take the bus.
