Lake Thiersee is fed by a number of little rivers, while its runoff is the Thierseer Ache which flows into the Inn river. Fish such as pike, zander, brown trouts, bass, carps and tenches populate the waters of the lake and make it a popular meeting point for fishermen.
In summer, Lake Thiersee attracts people from all over thanks to its pleasant water temperatures, which can reach 24 degrees C and to its outstanding water quality of Level I - it is one of Austria's cleanest bathing lakes. However, in the lido you can enjoy the Tyrolean sun or rent a paddle boat, a row boat or dolphin boat which makes you experience the lake in a different way.
There's also a plesant walking path taking you around the lake in one hour. Finally there is to say that Vorderthiersee is also a famous venue for Passion Plays. From the building in which plays take place on Easter, you can enjoy a splendid view on the crystal clear lake.
