Beside the Krummsee, Lake Reintal, Lake Berglsteiger and Lake Zireiner, the Reither See is one of the five lakes of the Alpbachtal valley. It is located in the centre of Reith im Alpbachtal, about half an hour's drive from Innsbruck. It is fed by ground water and a river, while the water runs off in an artificially established pipe.
In summer there's a bathing establishement on the shores of Lake Reith, also referred to as the "Blue Eye of Reith", which is particularly popular. The 1 km long trail around the lake, however, starts at the parish house and provides great impressions and views.
Much longer, about 10 km, is the "WasserWanderWeg", the Water Hiking Trail leading from Reith im Alpbachtal to Brixlegg. The theme trail takes past several points that are connected to the topic water, ending in Brixlegg. Sayings along the trail make this walk a lasting holiday experience.
