In Fieberbrunn in the Pillersee Valley there is a lake called Lauchsee, a real natural jewel. After some warm days only, its waters become warmer, making bathing in the lake possible from May on. In the Moorbad, a bathing facility, you can enjoy a jump into the refreshing waters.
The moor water shimmers brownish and a very special effect is attached to it: A bath is supposed to alleviate tensions, rheumatism and pain to the inter-vertebral disks. Besides the offer of the bathing establishment, there is also a restaurant where hikers love to stop.
On the south side of Lake Lauchsee, however, fishing is practised. The fish stock includes superb exemplars of carps and zander, pikes, ales and doctor fish. The fishing licences are issued as day or night tickets - the day tickets are valid only out of season, or on days with bad weather and no visitors. The fishing season ends when Lake Lauchsee freezes.
