At Grän and Nesselwängle in the Tannheimer Valley there is Lake Haldensee, characterised by excellent water quality. The lake is fed by the Nesselwängler Ache river and offers various possibilities to spend one's leisure time actively: It is a perfect starting point for hikes and bicycle tours in the surroundings, and of course a perfect resting place after a hike or MTB tour. Or would you like to explore the valley riding on a horseback or during a canyoning adventure?
At the lakeside there is the swimming area "Water World Haldensee" in the community of Grän. The water surface of 500 sqm can be heated up thanks to a solar collector. Beside swimming and splashing around, canoeing and rowing is a popular activity on the lake, and favouring wind conditions provide perfect conditions for windsurfers and sailors alike.
In winter, the Haldensee is an attraction both for adults and children, as you can ice skate or play curling on the surface in case the lake is frozen. The surrounding landscape is a white wonderland.
