1713 - that is the year in which the Ental Farm, today one of the oldest in the Zillertal valley, was built. It was cleared out a few decades ago and has been preserved as a magnificent building and important witness for future generations. But it was given an additional function: The Ental Farm became the seat of the Zillertal Regional Museum. For this purpose, the building was moved from its previous location in Schwendau to a plot of land in the south of Zell am Ziller.
Since then, the Regional Museum Zillertal has been telling the story of the valley, of its traditions and local culture. The history of the farm is also part of it, because the museum grows and changes over time. In recent years, for example, a workroom was set up in the threshing floor, and you can see the old tools in the workshop. Furthermore, a house chapel, a stove and a fuel hut were added and a farm garden was arranged.
The Ental Farm also proudly presents its parlour with an original Zillertal wood stove and the old kitchen with the open cooker. The Regional Museum (Zillertaler Regionalmuseum) is open during the summer months and is located in the middle of the greenery outside the village centre, surrounded by the magnificent mountains of the Zillertal valley.
