In Tarrenz in the holiday area of Imst there is quite a lot to discover: the Beer Experience at Starkenberg Castle, the Open-Air Mining Museum Gurgltal, and the interesting Local Museum. Life in former times is lively shown in the small Heimatmuseum Tarrenz at the outskirts of the village.
It is located in a farmhouse from 1734 AD. In the well-preserved stable there is also a museum gallery: During summer, paintings, statuaries and other artworks of local artists are exhibited here. In the Local Museum (Heimatmuseum Tarrenz) itself ancient objects of daily use and home appliances from the 17th and 18th century are shown, which document the life in former times.
In the winter months also Christmas cribs are exhibited. Due to the connection of old exhibits in the museum and artworks of young artists in the museum gallery, a unique combination of old and new has been created. Worth seeing!
