In the Kaunertal valley, more precisely in the district of Nufels, a very particular house with a layout shaped like a grand piano is located, it is built around a rock. It is in possession of Anton Wille, organist, piano player, wood artist and farmer, who collected historic grand pianos from the Viennese Time between 1820 and 1870 over many years.
He restored them and made them playable again. Built according to the rules of the golden ratio, the Grand Piano Museum Nufels (Flügelmuseum Nufels) has a strong spiritual atmosphere. It was opened in 1998, and the unique gorgeous wooden artworks, done by Anton Wille, decorate the walls. Also made of wood, are 5,000 organ pipes, which the artist manufactured of 50 various wood species. With them he wants to construct an organ tower shaped like a snail.
In the Grand Piano Museum Nufels concerts and various readings, exhibitions and even guided tours for children take place regularly. But of course also the instruments (50 in total) can be watched. Something really special are the concert evenings in summer!
