Ahorn Eagle’s Stage

The highest located bird of prey station in all of Europe is located in the Zillertal valley and offers flight demonstrations at 2,000 m a.s.l

On the Ahorn mountain, easily accessible from Mayrhofen by the Ahorn Cable Car, the Eagle's Stage Ahorn (AdlerBühne Ahorn) can be found. Here the kings of the air rise into the sky above the heads of the visitors and show elegant flight and hunting manoeuvres.

Eagle, owl, buzzard, falcon and co. live on the Ahorn and are cared for by the falconers. During the flight demonstrations the falconers tell interesting details about the beautiful animals. The access is barrier-free. New, however, is the so-called "Falkneroase" (Falconers' Oasis) around the Ahorn reservoir which was inaugurated during the summer months 2021: 7 stations tell about the history of falconry, the equipment used by falconers, and the indigenous birds of prey. They are part of MOUNTOPOLIS, the adventure world of the Mayrhofen lift facilities.

Furthermore, a theme path proceeds from the mountain station to the Eagle's Stage (about 10 minutes to walk) and offers further information. So a nice walking tour in the mountains of the Zillertal valley can be combined with this unforgettable experience. Once a week, an adventure day is offered by reservation, where you can take a glimpse behind the scenes. The birds of prey spend the winter in the new FalknerOase, the Falconer's Haven along the Ahorn WinterHikingTrail.
