The skiing area of Galtür, called Silvapark, is the highest located one in the Paznauntal, surrounded by the impressive three thousanders of the Silvretta Alps between Tyrol and Switzerland. It is considered to be family-friendly and snow sure, and is accessible also with the Silvretta Ski Pass which includes the four skiing areas in the Paznaun Valley. The Alpkogel Cable Car takes you from the edge of the village up to 2,300 m a.s.l., where 43 km of slopes and 6 km ski routes start.
For some years now, the skiing area has been shining in new splendour. Today it is made up of 12 park stations and 6 different areas. They are known by different names and refer to different target groups: Zwergerlwelt (Dwarf's World) with the mascot SIGGI and a kindergarten for toddlers from 18 months on, Abenteuerland (Adventure Land) for bigger children, Action Park offering ski fun for adults and adolescents, Heldenbereich (Heroes' Area) with stunning freeride slopes for freeriders and freestylers, Pistenparadies (Slope Paradise) for skiers and race snowboarders, and - last but not least - High & Nordic for ski tourers, snowshoe hikers and cross-country skiers.
Beginners will enjoy skiing on the ski slope at the Birkhahn Lift and on the short slope at the Soppa Lift. For night owls, however, the downhill runs are open at nighttime on a regular basis. New 2023/24 is Snoocing, the fun sport and mix between skiing and sledding, which can be tried on the family run no. 3 or in the children's area - a snooc can be rented at the Galtür Ski School. The skiing area bears the Tyrolean seal of quality for ski slopes and was awarded several times for its quality and child friendliness. At the end of the day, you can relax in the Adventure Pool Silvapark Galtür.
